Family Event Ideas
Now that we have our Saturday evening event location secured, it's time to figure out where we want to have our family event. We would likely have this on Saturday afternoon, although we could also do it on Sunday afternoon if that would work better for everyone. Please vote in the poll below and let us know what your preference would be. Be aware that the water park is scheduled to open on May 29, which means it will be brand new at the time of our reunion and likely pretty busy!

Searching for Matt Shannon
In looking back at the Where Are They Now posts on our blog, you'll notice that we've been predominantly featuring the female members of our class, so this time we've specifically picked out a guy. We don't have much information on Matt, unfortunately. Google searches have turned up tons of Matt and Matthew Shannons all over the place, but none of them appear to be the Matt from our class. The website USSearch.com indicates a least 7 addresses (either current or past) for Matt in Salina, but it won't show any of them. Unfortunately, 411.com doesn't have an address listed for him at all, so maybe he's unlisted or doesn't reside in Salina anymore. Does anyone have any information at all on Matt? Our Main Event
After researching over 25 different potential venues for our main reunion event on June 12, we've finally decided on Martinelli's Little Italy in downtown Salina. Right now we're estimating about 120 classmates and their guests will be attending, and unfortunately, many of the places we were interested in (including the Watson room at the Stiefel and the Scheme) only hold about 100 people. Martinelli's was a great option because they have space for 150, and we won't have to worry about table rental or insurance, which were issues at other locations. They also have a great catering menu with lots of variety!
We're planning a relaxed evening with lots of hors d'oeuvres, music, drinks and socializing! Because Martinelli's is handling the whole event for us and is very reasonably priced, we should be able to keep our costs down to around $25 per person. We'll post all the details here and on the Event Details page as we get everything finalized. We hope to make tickets available for purchase online sometime after the holidays!

Searching for Cello Perez
Cello is another person on our list who hasn't been contacted for our upcoming reunion. We know that Cello lived in California at some point, but a search on 411.com turned up 101 Consuelo Perezes in California alone! Does anyone know if Cello is still in CA or what area she's in? Does her family still live in Salina? Any information about Cello would be appreciated!

We've finished featuring those people who attended our last reunion who are now lost, and we've subsequently had a difficult time trying to decide who to feature next. The first person on our list that we don't have a potential address or phone number for is Tammy Boos. A search on 411.com didn't turn up an address, but a cross search on USSearch.com turned up an alias of Tammy Tompkins, so this might be her married name. It also indicated she might have lived in Wichita. There is a Tammy Tompkins in Wichita listed in 411.com, but we have no way of knowing if she's our classmate. Marci was also at our reunion back in 2000, but this time we haven't been able to find an email address for her. We think she was living in Salina at the time of our 10th, and some classmates think maybe she was working as a stylist. A search on USsearch.com shows Marci Hogan as an alias for Marci Modica, so this might be her married name. There is a Marci Hogan listed at 411.com, but we have no idea if this is our classmate. Tentative RSVPs
We're currently trying to select a venue for our main reunion event on June 12, but in order to do so, we really need to figure out approximately how many people will be there. The class of 1988 had about 75 classmates plus their guests at their 20th, but the class of 1989 only had about 35, so it's kind of hard to estimate based on those numbers! We're not asking for firm commitments at this point, but it would be super helpful to know who is tentatively planning on being there next summer so we know how big of a venue we actually need. I set up a new reunion event on Facebook to make it easy for those of us actually on Facebook to RSVP, and we already have over 40 people who have responded with a tentative yes or maybe. If you aren't on Facebook, please send us an email or leave a comment below to let us know that you're hoping to attend. If you are on Facebook, please RSVP for our event, even if you're just expressing your regrets. We want to make sure we select a venue that's big enough for everyone!

Committee Volunteers Needed

It recently came to our attention that we could use a few more people on the reunion planning committee. Several people who had hoped to be involved have now discovered that they won't be able to participate as much as originally planned. If you have any interest in party planning or any great ideas for our upcoming event, we could really use your help! The more people we have on the committee, the less work everyone will have to do! It would be especially helpful if at least one person on the committee actually lived in Salina, so that we have someone who is familiar with the local restaurants, hotels and other locations.

Searching for Don Gebhardt--FOUND!!

It seems like Don's email should be an easy one to come by because we actually know quite a bit about him. He works for the post office in Salina, and he even has a MySpace page that was pretty easy to find through a Google search. However, since he only accepts messages from his MySpace friends, and since he only accepts friend requests from people who already have his email address, we don't have any way to send him the info about the reunion! Surely someone out there has an email address for Don? If anyone in Salina runs into him can you have him email us at salinacentral1990 (at) gmail.com???

Half the Class
Despite the long delay in between postings, we've been busy scouring the Internet for our classmates, and we've managed to track down another 15 people since our update in June. This means we've contacted a total of half of our classmates about next year's reunion, which is great, but we still have lots of people to locate! Milestones: One Year, One Hundred People
As of today, we've reached a couple of really big reunion related milestones, so I thought it was the perfect time for a new post! First, as you can see from looking at the calendar, we are now exactly one year away from our 20th high school reunion. Let the countdown begin!
Our second milestone pertains to our classmate search. This week we found the contact information for the 100th member of the class of 1990! While it's true that Facebook has made this task remarkably easy, it's still an exciting accomplishment. This means we're closing in on the half-way mark, with almost 42% of our classmates located!

Our 10th Reunion
For those of you who didn't get to come to our last reunion, here are a few pictures from the evening event almost 9 years ago. It's hard to believe it's been that long! Nine years ago I didn't have a digital camera, so I have to apologize for the poor quality pictures! If anyone has additional pictures you want to share from the event, please feel free to send them to me.
As you can see, our 10th reunion wasn't especially well attended. I think the group shots were taken fairly late in the evening when several people had already gone home, but we were clearly missing a lot of our classmates! Hopefully next year our attendance will be much better!

Thirty-one Percent and Counting
If you haven't checked out our lost and found lists lately, I thought I'd pass along an update. We have now located email addresses for 71 of our classmates and have another 3 people we can reach via snail mail if necessary.
